pedestrian crossing lighting requirements
According to GOST 55706–2013, the following requirements are imposed on the lighting of pedestrian crossings:

  • To designate the transition zone, light sources with a color contrasting with the color of the light sources of the main street lighting should be used.
  • The norm of average illumination at the crossing should be 1.5 times higher than at the crossed carriageway.
  • The light distribution of lighting devices and their orientation relative to the ground pedestrian crossing must provide a contrast between the pedestrian and the background (roadway) and not cause blinding of drivers.
pedestrian crossing lighting solution
Lighting Technologies specialists have developed a lighting device, the use of which will make it possible to fulfill all the above requirements - the street console lamp FREGAT CROSSING LED.

This lighting device (hereinafter referred to as OP) uses optics with asymmetric light distribution, which makes it possible to concentrate more light on the roadway and pedestrians and at the same time not dazzle drivers. The default color of the luminaire is 5000K, which makes it possible to achieve contrast in relation to both OPs with traditional mercury and sodium light sources, and modern LED luminaires. The universal adjustable fastening unit makes it possible to mount the OP both on newly erected supports and on supports of the old stock. And finally, this luminaire can be integrated into modern Smart City systems for remote monitoring and individual control via LoRa Wan, NB-IoT, PLC control channels.

Thus, the use of a specialized lighting device FREGAT CROSSING LED by Lighting Technologies, coupled with competent design and the use of other technical means, such as road markings, artificial bumps and signal traffic lights, makes it possible to achieve the most effective solution for ensuring the safety of pedestrian crossings.
