MAGISTRAL luminaire – a fusion of advanced engineering and design ideas

(How a luminaire for Class A highways was created)
MAGISTRAL LED is number 1 in the company's range for high-speed road lighting. Its unique design, highly efficient combination of LEDs, optics and power supply make the luminaire the best solution for lighting highways and Class A1 outbound highways.
It was not easy to create a device that would become a "pioneer" in highway lighting in Russia due to its characteristics, design and technologies used. Despite challenges, our engineering team has successfully completed their work on MAGISTRAL.
Initially, the creation of the device was launched on numerous requests for Class A highway lighting projects. In addition, the construction of toll roads was already in full swing, and we did not have a product that would meet the requirements for illuminating a four-lane highway.
After we released the first batch, it became clear that the application of the luminaire is much wider. It is in demand for lighting parking lots, large open areas, sports facilities. It is also used in urban environment. In fact, FENIX modification (with warm light of 2700 K) has been installed at Moscow road junctions, motorways across the city, and at the construction sites of new metro stations.
The housing is made in the form of two separate protected covers with IP 65 protection. This design protects the light source (LEDs) and other electronic components from moisture.
In addition to most suitable temperature conditions, the structure is designed in such a way as to significantly reduce the wind load. For this reason, the parts of the housing are divided with a "window" between them.
Despite having our own aluminum casting shop, we did not have the equipment to produce such a large housing at that time. So, we approached one of the three factories in Russia capable of fulfilling the order. However, we face unstable quality problem because the housing has a complex structure (it has moving parts both in the die and the punch). As a result, we decided to set up production at a plant in Ryazan. After some time, we managed by trial and error to ensure stable quality of products.
The luminaire was a success by all parameters. We can say without false modesty that it was MAGISTRAL that served as a prototype for the lighting fixture that is incorporated in Avtodor’s internal standards. This document raised the requirements for lighting fixtures for roads, cutting off the supply of low-quality devices.
Among implemented projects, we would like to single out the first one, Voroshilovsky bridge in Rostov-on-Don. It is an important architectural and transport element of the city with a length of 620 meters. Light fixtures were installed as part of the reconstruction of lighting to replace outdated sodium lamps. Among other significant projects: a section of the federal highway M11 and the second stage of the Eastern Bypass in Tula carried out under the national project "Safe High-Quality roads".
MAGISTRAL is manufactured using domestic LEDs produced by RuSID.
Among the immediate plans: bringing it to a new level of efficiency and price reduction. So, you will soon see an upgraded and improved version of MAGISTRAL LED on the streets of Russian cities!
