Future architects visit Lighting Technologies
01 - 01 january 1970
Students of the Moscow Institute of Architecture (MARHI) visited our company’s production site in Ryazan.
The visit was a logical next step for Year 4 students who study Architectural Physics. In the upcoming semester, they will dive into the field of artificial lighting. So, visiting a modern lighting equipment production site should broaden their understanding of the artificial lighting opportunities.
The traditional tour of the facility was accompanied with lectures and informal communication. We began with the principles of modern lighting design and interaction with the team of designers, gradually leading the audience to see how light reveals the space.
We used examples of realized projects to show students that lighting is an important tool for the architect. It not only solves the functional problem of visibility, but also complements the interior, enriches the perception and highlights the details.
The lighting studio also caught the students’ attention. It is useful for future architects to see how non-standard lighting fixtures for public spaces, small architectural forms and light installations are made to order for architectural bureaus and designers.
Despite the busy program and traveling, everyone was satisfied with the visit to an advanced Russian production facility. We look forward to further cooperation with MARHI and invite architects and designers to visit, so that they too could expand their knowledge about modern lighting and approaches to design!
