Project overview:
Kazan-Arena is a multi-purpose football stadium and a mixed-use complex in Kazan, Tatarstan. It is one of the most capacious stadiums in Russia, which is designed to accommodate 45,380 people.
The stadium pertaining to the UEFA highest category IV was opened on 14 June 2013.
In the framework of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the stadium hosted six official matches.

Tasks:
– Offer an optimum energy-efficient lighting solution for the adjacent area of the stadium
– Ensure the most uniform lighting around the stadium by installing luminaires on eight mounted supports. Each support is 12 m high.
– In accordance with lighting standards, ensure the comfortable movement of spectators along the flights of stairs from external exits of the stadium second tier. It was also necessary to illuminate the passages in the under-stand rooms as per the lighting design.

Outcome:
As a result of the works performed, we offered to illuminate the adjacent area of the stadium with powerful floodlight-type luminaires HB LED FLOODLIGHT. Since luminaires need to be installed at a height of 12 m, and the adjacent area of the stadium is quite spacious, then we decided to install luminaires HB LED 400 with different types of light intensity distribution curve on each support (12 luminaires per support). To ensure the uniform illumination, we used 9 luminaires HB LED 400 D30 5000K between the supports and in the adjacent area. To light the second-tier exits and flights of stairs, we used 2 luminaires HB LED 400 D60 5000K and one luminaire HB LED 400 D80 5000K supplementing the uniformity of illumination in the farthermost areas of the stadium.
 
To illuminate the passages in the under-stand rooms, we used luminaires LZ.OPL ECO LED 1200 TH 5000K. The resulted illumination is in full conformity with illumination standards and the lighting design.
