Project overview: History of the Kazan Circus dates back more than 100 years. The first stationary circus was build in 1890 by Nikitin brothers, founders of Russian National Circus. In 2017, the circus was closed for a major capital repair, after which it opened in March, 2018. In June and July, 2017, architectural and archaeological measurement of the building was made which a 3D circus model. All the facility functions and utilities were digitally simulated. The design was developed using BIM technologies.
Task: to propose solutions in compliance with the design project and provide luminaries data to create BIM models. Design documentation for repair and restoration works was developed by State Unitary Enterprise ‘Tatinvestgrazhdanproekt’. Design concept was prepared by the design studio of Elena Zubko (Valeeva).
Outcome: For the design project, Lighting Technologies developed and delivered luminary modifications of non-standard colours and new models of luminaries. Thus, CYCLE P LED series luminaries of different colours were implemented in shape of a ring. Rounded architectural forms of the Circus design was supported by suspended luminaries SOL P, built-in luminaries SOON, SNS LED, SAFARI DL LED, STAR NBT LED and COLIBRI DL LED series surface-mounted luminaries with accessories for surface mounting. Accentuating lighting was made using BELL/S LED. Halls and cloakrooms were completed with LED MALL LINE series strip lights. High premises of the drill hall were illuminated with INSEL LB/S LED luminaries. Evacuation route indicators of the emergency lighting system were made of MIZAR LED devices. CONVERSION KIT POWER LED 8-40W IP20 external units were used for emergency lighting. ACORN LED, LZ.OPL ECO LED were installed in technical rooms. Administration premises were illuminated with OPL/R ECO LED и OPTIMA.OPL ECO LED series luminaries.
The design was implemented in full compliance with the design concept and within the deadline established by the customer.
