Biological department of the Lomonosov Moscow State University and Lighting Technologies IGC are developing their cooperation in researching biologically effective lighting solutions with adjustable brightness and emission spectrum. These activities were initiated by a project by Lighting Technologies, under which biologically and emotionally effective remote controlled lighting systems were installed in a laboratory of the MSU biological department.
“Biologically effective lighting – is a global trend in innovative light fittings, which was boosted by rapid development of LED technologies and the increasing market demands. Research and development activities in this sphere are essentially cross-disciplinary: it is cooperation between businessmen and scientists which is the recipe for success. Lighting Technologies IGC was the first in Russia to initiate developing solutions in this sphere. And the consideration for this sphere demonstrated by biologists from the nation’s leading university proves importance and promising outlook of these lighting solutions”, Maria Popova, PR responsible at Lighting Technologies, commented.
“Practice shows that research and development are especially effective when carried out from the very beginning by the research team together with the industrial partner. And biological lighting solutions are, of course, a part of this pattern. We believe that the cooperation of researchers from the MSU biological department with technical and production specialists from Lighting Technologies will be fruitful and effective”, deputy dean of the MSU biological department Dmitry Akhayev believes.
