Project: Congress Hall in Ufa

Lighting redesign and replacement per design concept
Short site description: Congress Hall is one of Ufa's landmarks. It is the place where most important social, political, business, scientific, and cultural events are held. This spacious high-tech, drop-shaped building with a Bashkir national ornamental pattern includes a 774-person concert hall, two conference halls (Small and Oval for up to 94 and 22 persons respectively), museum and exhibition center, 120-person national cuisine restaurant, winter garden, shopping center for 1000 visitors, and underground parking for 230 cars. In July 2015, the Congress Hall hosted BRICS and SCO summits in which heads of the member states participated.
Objective: As part of comprehensive refurbishment of the building for the summits, the lighting had to be redesigned and replaced according to the design concept. This work was performed in collaboration with an architectural studio and with direct participation of the Chief Architect office of Bashkortostan Republic. The ceiling in the conference hall and some other premises was designed as a hexagonal pattern where luminaires were to be fitted in. Therefore, the main thing was to select luminaires of a similar size to the side of a hexagon in the pattern.
Luminaires used: ALD 218 HF (U), RIVAL 236 HF S, STAR NBT 11 F123, DIADEM 100, SIRIUS 200, and others.
Result: More than 70 % of all premises in the building, including the conference hall, press hall, food court, utility spaces, and offices, use Lighting Technologies luminaires for lighting
