Project Description:

The story of creating the Big Planetarium begins in September 2006, after the First Siberian Astronomical Forum (SibAstro) took place.
The initial ambitious project was divided into two stages. The first stage included: Astrophysical Center, park and Foucault’s Tower. The Planetarium building was made two-floored. The first floor comprised a  film production studio, an office, technical and auxiliary premises. The second floor included the following: 16-meter high star hall – the very heart of the Planetarium, two observatory towers, a big hall, lecture rooms and a canteen.

For the second stage, an area bordering in the west with the planetarium territory was reserved. The second stage was called Children's Science and Technology Museum (Children's Technology Park).

One of the Customer’s preferences was that the interior should resemble starry sky. Thus, spot light and DL type luminaires were offered to comply with the design project.

DLGDHS, and REGO luminaires.

As the project provided for a lot of DL type luminaires (to create starry sky effect), we were to eliminate blinding. Matte glass DLG luminaire proved to be the best option to meet the task.

We also used DHS luminaires for the local interior lighting. The main requirement here was that metal-halide luminaires were to be round.

We also were to create a takeoff runway effect at the passageways and some corridors. Rego luminaire enabled us to do so.

The required effect is achieved. The Novosibirsk Planetarium is deemed to be one of the best planetarium in Russia.
