Artificial lighting is able to affect human general well-being, mood and performance. It was confirmed by a research conducted by Lighting Technologies Company specialists in association with the Kazan State Power Engineering University (KSPEU).

Within the scope of research conducted by Light Engineering and Biomedical Electronics Division at KSPEU, two adjacent operating lecturing halls, identical in size and design, were allocated. Lighting in one of them was fully refurbished by Biologically and Emotionally Effective Lighting innovative solutions. The other lecturing hall was a reference specimen and was left as is. Comparative assessment of colour temperature influence upon human body was measured considering restrictions for standard requirements for training premises and light distribution equivalence. According to research design, performance, health and mood indicators were measured in both lecturing halls during study. More than 100 people participated in the research: students of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 years of both sexes, aged between 17 and 23. Research results were very impressive, initiating a whole new stage of research studies!

We are convinced that proven effect of lighting will not only lead us into a new era of lighting, but will also help to improve the living standards for people that spend the majority of their working hours under artificial lights.
